Description
The straight rod stainless steel low density float level switch with Hirschmann connector is a reed switch type liquid level controller specially designed for low specific gravity liquids such as oil, diesel, alcohol, and chemical liquids. Compared with standard float switches for water, the low-density float ball provides better buoyancy performance and more stable switching action in low-density media.
The Hirschmann industrial connector design offers faster maintenance, cleaner wiring, and more reliable signal transmission in industrial automation systems. The detachable plug structure allows quick replacement without removing the entire cable, greatly improving maintenance efficiency.
Made of high-quality stainless steel with laser welding technology and imported reed switch components, the product features excellent corrosion resistance, stable performance, and long service life. It is especially suitable for oil tanks, alcohol containers, fuel systems, and industrial liquid level control environments requiring stable signal transmission and anti-interference capability.
Compared with single-ball type, the double-ball version provides dual-point liquid level control for high and low level monitoring, making it more suitable for automatic pump start/stop systems and liquid level alarm applications.

What is a low density float level switch used for?
A low density float level switch is specially designed for liquids with low specific gravity, such as: Oil Diesel Alcohol Fuel Light chemical liquids Compared with standard float switches for water, low density models use specially designed floats to ensure reliable buoyancy and stable switching in lighter liquids.
What is the advantage of the Hirschmann connector?
The Hirschmann connector provides: Quick plug-and-play installation Easy maintenance and replacement Stable electrical connection Better protection against loose wiring More professional industrial wiring structure It is widely used in industrial automation and liquid control systems.
What material is the float switch made of?
The float switch is made of stainless steel, including the float ball and rod structure, providing: Excellent corrosion resistance High mechanical strength High temperature resistance Long service life 316 stainless steel customization is available for more corrosive media.
Why is this float switch suitable for oil and alcohol?
Standard float switches designed for water may not float properly in low-density liquids. This model uses a specially designed low-density float structure with improved buoyancy, making it suitable for: Oil tanks Fuel systems Alcohol containers Lubrication systems Light chemical liquid control
Is it normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)?
It supports both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC), depending on the float orientation. The switching logic can be changed by reversing the float by 180°. Lower-Open Type (Default) ① When the liquid level rises, the float moves away from the reed switch position, and the switch turns OFF. ② When the liquid level falls, the float returns to the reed switch position, and the switch turns ON. Upper-Open Type ① When the liquid level rises, the float returns to the reed switch position, and the switch turns ON. ② When the liquid level falls, the float moves away from the reed switch position, and the switch turns OFF. Note The factory default is usually the lower-open type, but users can adjust it according to control requirements.
Can it directly control pumps or valves?
No. The internal reed switch only supports low current and should not directly drive: Water pumps Solenoid valves Contactors High-power alarms Recommended solution: Alarm or valve → use relay Pump → use relay + contactor Direct connection may damage the reed contacts.
What are the advantages of the straight rod structure?
Easy vertical installation Stable float movement Suitable for narrow tanks Reliable switching performance Suitable for industrial liquid level systems
What liquids are suitable for this float switch?
Suitable for: Diesel Fuel oil Lubricating oil Alcohol Light chemical liquids Other low-density media compatible with stainless steel Not recommended for: Heavy sludge High-viscosity liquids Liquids with large solid particles
Can rod length and connector type be customized?
Yes. Customization options include: Rod length Float quantity Float spacing Thread size Cable length Connector type OEM / ODM production
What should buyers confirm before ordering?
Buyers should confirm: Liquid type Liquid density / specific gravity Working temperature Pressure conditions Installation direction Rod length Thread size NO / NC logic Required cable length Quantity and customization requirements Low-density liquid applications should especially confirm liquid specific gravity before production.
What are the advantages of the single-ball low density model?
Higher sensitivity Faster response Compact structure Suitable for limited installation space Ideal for point-level detection It is suitable for compact oil tanks and small liquid level control systems.
When should the single-ball model be selected?
Choose the single-ball model if: Only one switching point is required Installation space is limited Simple alarm or control function is needed High sensitivity is preferred
