Description
The stainless steel long rod float level switch is a reed switch type liquid level controller designed for deep tank and large container applications. Compared with standard float switches, this model features an extended rod length of up to 1000mm from the threaded mounting point to the bottom of the float, making it suitable for deep-level liquid detection.
The extended structure allows accurate monitoring in deep tanks, improving installation efficiency and system stability.
The large 100×100mm float ball design provides stronger buoyancy and more stable operation compared with standard small float switches. It is especially suitable for sewage, impurity-containing liquids, deep tanks, and industrial environments with liquid fluctuations.
Made of high-quality stainless steel with laser welding technology and imported reed switch components, the product offers excellent corrosion resistance, stable switching performance, and long service life. It is widely used in water, oil, and chemical liquid level control systems.

What is the GSK series float level switch used for?
The GSK series stainless steel float level switch is used for liquid level detection and automatic control in industrial tanks, reservoirs, and automation systems. It is widely used for: Water tank level monitoring Pump automatic start/stop control High and low liquid level alarms Overflow protection Dry-run protection Industrial process automation systems It provides stable ON/OFF liquid level switching signals.
What is the working principle of the GSK float switch?
The switch operates through a magnetic float and reed switch structure. When the liquid level changes: The float moves up or down The internal magnet approaches the reed switch The reed switch opens or closes the circuit This allows automatic liquid level control without complicated electronic structures.
What material is the float switch made of?
The float ball and rod are made of SU304 stainless steel. Main advantages include: Corrosion resistance High mechanical strength High temperature resistance Long service life 316 stainless steel versions may also be available for corrosive liquids.
Is it normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)?
It supports both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC), depending on the float orientation. The switching logic can be changed by reversing the float by 180°. Lower-Open Type (Default) ① When the liquid level rises, the float moves away from the reed switch position, and the switch turns OFF. ② When the liquid level falls, the float returns to the reed switch position, and the switch turns ON. Upper-Open Type ① When the liquid level rises, the float returns to the reed switch position, and the switch turns ON. ② When the liquid level falls, the float moves away from the reed switch position, and the switch turns OFF. Note The factory default is usually the lower-open type, but users can adjust it according to control requirements.
What is the control stroke of the float switch?
The control stroke of the single-float model is approximately 10 mm. This means: High sensitivity Fast response Suitable for precise liquid level detection If a larger liquid level difference is needed, users can: Install two switches at different heights Use a double-float model
Can the float switch directly control pumps or solenoid valves?
No — not recommended for direct load switching. The internal reed switch is designed for low-current signal applications and should not directly control inductive or high-power loads such as pumps or solenoid valves. Recommended solution: Control signal → relay or PLC input Pump or valve → relay / contactor / motor starter ⚠️ In low-power applications (small DC pumps or low-current valves), direct switching may be possible only if the load is within the switch rating. Direct connection may reduce lifespan or damage the reed contacts.
Can the float position be adjusted freely?
No. The float position is fixed by circlips, and the internal reed switch position cannot be moved. Simply moving the circlips will not effectively change the switching point. If special switching positions are required, customized dimensions are recommended.
What liquids is it suitable for?
Suitable for: Clean water Oil Cooling liquids Industrial liquids compatible with stainless steel Not recommended for: Heavy sludge Liquids with floating debris High-viscosity media Because the switch is highly sensitive, clean liquid environments are recommended.
Can rod length and float quantity be customized?
Yes. Customization options include: Rod length Float quantity (1–4 floats or more) Mounting structure Cable length OEM / ODM production This makes the GSK series suitable for various tank structures and industrial projects.
What should buyers confirm before ordering?
Before purchasing, buyers should confirm: Liquid type Working temperature Working pressure Required rod length Float quantity Installation direction NO / NC logic Electrical specifications Quantity and customization requirements This helps ensure compatibility with the actual application system.
